  8. I use cat for a few reasons. First, I am bad at the game and I need this extra DD often. Second, I hate fishing minigame and I need a lot of bones for Nightmare trading. And last, but not least, I like cats and waking up this lazy bastard is a fun minigame to me.

  10. I don't understand why Moros is considered an "easy to use" weapon. I am not that good at the game surely, but I find torches one of the most complicated weapons in the game. You need to cast Omega Special constantly, run into groups of enemies and use attacks also to stagger and not forget to reapply specials. It is a very difficult for me to keep watching specials, attacks and enemy positions at the same time.

  13. Got scammed in fields of mourning with Athena's keepsake, just assumed it didn't work there but it feels stupid to have a mechanic that just makes the player feel bad 1/10th of the time.

  20. Athena has a lot of different conditions that block her from spawning.
    From what I can find in the code, she can't spawn naturally twice, or at all if:

    You are less than 4 rooms into the current region
    Her keepsake has expired (blocks natural spawn too?)
    You have an active testament on the Oath of The Unseen
    You have encountered Artemis, Nemesis, Heracles, Icarus, or Athena (>2 Heracles spawn) in the past 6 locations this run.
    The current location is non-combat, a warden, or a guardian
    The current location reward is a boon, hex, trial of the gods, hermes, hammer, pom, or path of stars
    Aetos (Eagle) spawns in current location

    If none of those block her spawn, then the chance of her appearing is dependent on how many times you've encountered Heracles in the past 4 runs, and if this is your first Athena encounter:

    First encounter, 2 or fewer Heracles encounters in the past 4 runs: 16/37 chance per location 43%
    First encounter, more than 2 Heracles encounters in the past 4 runs: 11/32 chance per location 34%
    Not first encounter, 2 or fewer Heracles encounters in past 4 runs: 8/31 chance per location 26%
    Not first encounter, more than 2 Heracles encounters in 4 runs: 1/8 chance per location 12.5%

    Natural Athena spawns with 2 or fewer Heracles are treated as a separate event from those with more than two. However, spawns with more than 2 can still occur even if you have less than 2 Heracles, about 3/8 times. The 2 or fewer spawn is simply added to the possible encounters, but does not replace the more than 2 spawn.
    For some reason, only the more than 2 spawn blocks the keepsake for 6 locations.

    As far as I am aware, the keepsake inherits the same conditions as a natural spawn, though you can only get two Athena spawns if the natural one occurs first.
