Game Description:

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

BATTLE OUT OF HELL
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS
The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience thousands of unique story events as you learn about what’s really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.

BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY
New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Permanent upgrades mean you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.

SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that’s been core to Supergiant’s games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

  1. Edit: 1:20:00 Pierce ignores shields from what I understand. So it makes Theseus and the other annoying shield holders easier to deal with. It might also cause projectiles to pass through them and potentially hit more enemies, but that's harder to see.
1:40:30 The bonus chamber was Chaos in the first world. It can't exit into the boss, so the game spawned the final two shop/free options even though the room "should" have been the boss.
1:46:40 Please wait to sell the ambrosia until the game shows you the ways you can spend them. Yes you can always farm more of them with heat runs or eventually get enough with gem runs to convert your way all the way up to ambrosia, but it will be nice to have a few around. It's not bad to sell a few but I think it would serve you better if that choice was more educated.

There is a definitive "end" of the story if that's what you care about. For that matter there are 3 (?) different ends I could see for the series. 1st end is beating the boss (Great, you did it!). The second is hitting credits and I expect this to happen before too long. The final ending will be defined as you approach it but is still a long way off. Then there's 100%. That's insane and while I'd love to see you get there I do not expect it and I doubt it would be the best for your channel.
I'm trying to be a vague as I can, but without you knowing anything about the overall structure it's really hard for you to make plans for your channel. Rest assured there will still be new "content" in the form of lore, dialogue, and upgrades to work towards at least until you get the "final" ending and probably a bit after that.

  2. As mentioned, there's a few potential ending spots. You're definitely gonna reach the second soon. Maybe you've reached it already since you often have a buffer of episodes lol. Aside from that, the third will be defined by a prophecy you can get not too long after the prior end (I think, been a little while).

Honestly I'd watch it right up to you finishing all the characters storylines (ie completely filling their hearts) or even further, this is just a fun series to watch IMO. But I get your reasons for not wanting to go on forever lmao

The diamond costs for songs are just a place to spend diamonds once you've bought all the gameplay upgrades lol

Fated Persuasion is much better than Fated Authority IMO, but both can be good. The Boon swap will randomly alter a god's rewards but not what god it is, though.

Also with Aspect of Hera – Dionysus' cast absolutely rules with that, esp if you get the Duo Boons to upgrade it (Zeus and Demeter IIRC)

  3. I gotta say, I continue to wonder about your choice to use the Heal-per-Darkness talent over the Heal-per-Chamber talent. Healing 3 points per chamber is just so much more healing than healing 6-7 points per Darkness, especially when you consider how rare it is to find darkness. It's only really worth it if you get the specific Chaos or Poseidon boon that massively inflates the value of Darkness, and that's a big Maybe. Not to mention, you'll have to actively seek out Darkness, which means picking it over other, potentially better rewards, or wasting money that could go to buying better bonuses.

  4. One of my favorite builds is Aphrodite/Dionysus with aspect of Chiron. Their duo makes hangover stack to 8 on Weak enemies, so Weak attack, hangover special maxed to 8 arrows. Perfect.

  5. Hey Keith. I know you’re playing a few games already, but if you find the time, since you liked shovel knight, you should try out Cyber Shadow. It’s a dystopian Ninja action platformer

  6. The way fated authority works is you can use it at a door and change the reward for the room. Say the door shows a god ability, if you use fated authority instead of going in, it refills that room so instead of a god power it now shows a hammer, or a Pom of Power. It says reroll the next chamber because that’s mechanically what happens, it does a fresh RNG roll for the reward of one of your chamber choices when leaving a room.

  7. So your confusion about the room numbers is because you chose the chaos room before the shop in Tartarus. Since a shop is required to happen before the boss fight it forces the room numbers to go up offsetting them for the rest of your run

  8. With the aspect of Chiron you mainly want speed, you can dish a lot of damage if you can spam SPECIAL. I would say the aspect of ??? is better suited for area attacks… I haven't played that much with the aspect of Hera, but it makes some boons rather obsolete.

  9. I understand your point of view of the frustrating aspects of choosing boons that don't seem strong and are rather ineffective on bosses like being immune to armor attacks or not being able to be knocked back and so forth, but there are far more enemies along the run that could fuck it all up, elysium is challenging for a lot of people for a lot of reasons and styx (which is loaded with armored foes) can easily break a run. In addition to this, Hades summons armored enemies when he fights you as well. You have to take into account other aspects of the encounters and stop focusing so much on bosses because they are not the only threats of runs being successful or not. Being able to solve styx easily for more upgrades could make Hades x5 easier. But for that to happen you would need a lot of damage against armor or knock back, it all correlates together. Just because one thing isn't effective against bosses doesn't make it useless for the run itself prior to encountering them.
