  1. One trinket per NPC, giving additional nectar just get's you new lore and for some npc's eventualy unlocks their personal quest, so gifting additional nectar before giving one to each NPC is inefficient.

  2. I KNOW that this is just a recording from forever ago but hearing all that Hades slander born out of ignorance still makes me shiver ^^'
Yes, Hades kidnapped Persephone in the original mythos, but it was not only far more consentual than a lot of other parings but also SPONSORED AND APPROVED by Persephones father Zeus.
The only person who truly had something against their union was Demeter.

  3. RIP rare crop. It's not super clear because the boon rarity/color can be kind of confusing, you might initially think a boon that says "rare" (blue) is implying that the power itself is rare but that's not the case. All boons exist as different versions at every rarity level, the rarity levels being common, rare, epic, and heroic, the higher the rarity the more powerful the boon is. So you can get Ares attack boon as common and doom will do 50 damage or if you get it as epic it does 100 and heroic it does 125, but it's the same boon just at a different caliber, and then when you factor in levels from poms and you can get very powerful with higher leveled epic and heroic boons. The way rare crop works is it will randomly select a boon or boons and it will reduce it's rarity down to common but every 3 encounters the rarity goes up, so if it targets a rare (blue) boon it will turn it into a common boon but after 6 encounters it will be epic which is better than what it was, and after 9 it will be heroic. Rare crop is also subject to the rarity system but in it's case common level rare crop only affects 1 boon, rare level rare crop affects 2 boons, and epic level rare crop affects 3 boons, so if you get an epic rare crop and have at least 9 more encounters then you'll end up with 3 heroic boons. It's worth noting that there are limited ways of getting a heroic boon, if you have an epic boon then a heroic boon in the same slot may show up from another god, so for instance if you have an epic ares attack boon and then get a boon from zeus he may offer you a heroic version of his attack boon that would have to replace your epic ares boon to get, the other way is getting an item you haven't seen yet during a run that raises the rarity of 2 random boons by 1, so if you use this item and have epic boons and those epic boons are either all you have or you get lucky and those are the chosen boons then they will be raised to heroic but those are the only three ways to get a heroic. You either replace an epic boon with a heroic equivalent from another god, you get this item while having an epic boon and it chooses that boon, or you get rare crop and have 9 or more encounters.

  4. Ooh, Orpheus! Yay!

And DUSA!! <3 <3 <3 I am so satisfied that you named the part after her.

Glad it didn't take you long to realize the gold pots are the ones with the gold.

And yes, that teleporting Wretched Sneak miniboss doesn't show up until you make it to the surface once. Usually, it's the last Tartarus miniboss people run into, but you still have one unseen thanks to God Gamer Ian managing that so early…

The scone bit made me laugh =)

    Ooh, first duo!

  5. Day 240 of reminding everyone that Ian drank Casey’s Nesquik.

Also I cooked chicken last night but I fell asleep afterwards without meaning to. I just woke up and the chicken has been sitting out on the counter for 6 hours. I’m fucking crying TT

  6. Asphodel doesn't look like lava lakes in the greek myth. It's a series of verdant lush fields where mostly nothing happens and gives permanent residence to those who haven't committed offenses in life that would require the punishment of Tartarus, but have failed to perform great deeds (i.e. killed thousands in wars) to earn a place in Elysium where hotheads fight for eternity. In Hades lore, the river of fire Phlegeton overflowed and set the whole place on FIRE.

So asphodel is usually just like lush fields you wander around in, the lava isn’t normal.

So “most people reside here” isn’t usually scary, as a Hellenist it’s usually a comfort.
That average people go there and only truly evil people (mass murderers, r*pists, etc) and those that directly interfere with the gods (i.e trying to become a god, cheat death, turn the gods against eachother etc.) go to Tartarus

  9. Not picking Daedalus hammer makes me sad everytime I see it
Like, how do you NOT pick the thing that can completely change how your weapon acts? That's so fun (And generally strong)

That said Ian is like 10 times better at Hades then me so guess he doesn't need it

    but IT IS STILL FUN

  10. 34:08 you'd think Violins were the worst, but as someone who was in my school's orchestra for most of my schooling, Violas are the most violent. They're just like violins, except they have the added fury of everyone thinking they are Violins.

Brought to you by: This🥚 egg.

  11. 18:57 I can't believe, that you turned down the chance to max every boon in this run.
How many poms is that equivalent to?
You forsook the equivalent poms! (and 2 hammers in 1 floor. And Hermes for 1 pom.)
    😉

  12. Casey can you just ask the fates. No the fates would literally tell him nothing they don't even tell their mother anything who is Nick's and their mother is afraid of them. Man I really like you and Casey show she knows mythology sarcasm

  13. the coffee-dipped scone bit was funny enough that I'm willing to ignore ian's repeated chaos gate/infernal trove blunders, I'm so used to him playing the straightman and casey the fool that switching the routine actually fucking broke me
