► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. Funnily enough, with the Trial of the Gods rooms, Duo boons with the other god are not allowed and there's a higher likelihood of them having a boon that overwrites the other god's boon.

  2. GOSH I love your videos and your humour!! Please don't stop being you.
Also I feel like the few mythology questions call for yet another one of my (kinda all over the place tbh) explanations:
. As far as I know, there's not a particular symbolism to eyeballs for the Elysium fighters. But! Building a little on what's explained of them in the Codex, it might just be a representation of how lost they are without the weapons they so adored. Those fighters are so useless without them, they don't even have distinguishing features (or form) until they find their weapon again and regenerate.
. I always found Asterius' myth very sad. Also kind of gross by today's standards of you read it very literally.
Minos – king of Crete – should have sacrificed a white bull to Poseidon's to gain his favour and beat his brothers to the throne, but, stuck by its beauty, decided to keep it and sacrifice another (lesser) bull. You'll never guess how Poseidon felt! Angry. So he made Minos' wife, fall in love with that bull, because Gods™. With a little help from Daedalus (Hammer Guy in this game) she built an empty white cow to hide in and to mate with the bull. So the minotaur was born, and because he had a wild character and a tendency to eat people, not vegetables, Minos ordered Daedalus (again) to build a labirinth so that he could be contained. Hence the myth of the Slay of Knossos' Bull, or what I like to call: Theseus being cool for like five minutes and then fucking up Real Bad. But that's another (really long) story.

As a side comment tho! Once you've got all the gifts, you should consider focusing more on a single person when giving the nectar to so you can progress on your relationship with them more quickly. Don't worry too much about choosing tho (even if I personally am rooting for Thanatos), becoming friends or lovers with a character will never block other roads. It's the polyamory of it all.

  3. Demeter's beams are nice but tricky to place, unless you get her duo boon with either Artemis or Aphrodite. What the beam, even in it's base form, is really good at is the battle against the furies and the hydra.
Edit: Small point of contention for the Demeter's Arctic Blast boon: It is actually really easy to chill all foes if you're only fighting one or two foes. Which is to say that it is good against bosses. 😉

  4. The thing I appreciate about this LP the most is, probably, Welonz's willingness to experiment with things: constant changing of weapons, aspects and builds; preferring new and interesting boons to the more effective (if it is a proper term, since the game is very well balanced), already tested out ones; things like taking a chaos blessing one room before a boss, etc. Never change, you're the coolest

  5. Congratulations for your first fish! o/
This achievement was harder than Hades! ;D

And great run again! It's always really fun to follow you through Hell! (>^.^)>

  6. I don't know that you'll meet the fates. They reside in Olympus beside Zeus' throne and only leave to measure out the thread of life for each newborn.
The interesting thing about them is that even the gods feared them as their predictions were generally unavoidable including the means on one's own death.

  7. See this is whats wrong with youtube comments.
Some dumb asshole actually ruined ten times thing for her.
Why cant you just keep your mouth shut and let her discover on her own??!!

  8. Gotta admit that the Artemis boon that raised the god gauge by a small percentage per critical hit does sound super underwhelming and I tend to avoid it as well, but in this run the combination of that, the 4% of the pressure points and the constant damage of the crystal beam seemed to be doing a lot of work!

  9. 7:50 – That's 9 minutes in game time, not in real time. The timer stops when you are in non-combatant rooms, move between rooms, choose something for boon/upgrade/shop and fish. Essentially, while your IRL run completion time would be somewhere around 50 minutes, in game timer would count something around 25 minutes. Which means that 9 minutes per floor with 4 floors is more than enough (timer doesn't reset when you move to another floor – you just get 9 more minutes).

  10. About boon rarity:
there are 4 levels for regular boons – common, rare, epic and heroic.
Plus there are two "special" rarities (duo and legendary) that require a certain combination of regular boons to get.

  11. For what it's worth – crit is a little stronger than it looks, as crits do triple damage, not double like Pokemon or many other systems. A 4% crit chance increase is effectively an 8% damage increase, but only for things that modify the base damage of the attack. If your attack does Doom or chain lightning on hit, crit's unappealing because it doesn't modify those things; if your attack has had its damage buffed (Artemis, Demeter, Aphrodite, Chaos boons, etc), then crit becomes wayyy more powerful.

Anyway – good work once again! You've managed to grok this game quite quickly.

  12. Gonna re-iterate a tip I posted a few videos ago: When fishing, close your eyes and listen for the BIG splash. Hammer the button as soon as you hear it, and not before. You're not using a pad so you're not getting distracted by vibrations so use the fact that your ears can differentiate between different inputs better than your eyes can. Trust me, close your eyes, become zen, and catch every single fish that comes your way 🙂

  13. Don't worry Welonz, Chaos wasn't saying your visits aren't worth their while! They were actually saying the opposite; now I'm so wrapped up in negatives that cancel each other I'm confusing myself
