A new year definitely means newer pacing with music and especially this year, more originality in what I put out.. BUT I can’t forget how much I love big title themes from games, and after playing even more Hades with Allison (BIG props to her on this track) I knew I’d be covering another track off it. No Escape has a really cool contrast, almost a call and response, with the Mediterranean instruments and crushing guitars playing that “death motif”. I wanted to echo that, with of course sitar and acoustic guitars on one end and 8-string and trombones in the other corner! That also brings me to Allison who arranged for some heavy stabs and bone lines that blended quite nicely, almost reminding me of some of the symphonic black metal music a friend showed me way back!

Visually, I want to make most of my 2022 videos “simpler” since I’ve found the extra effort doesn’t really help Youtube or reception anyhow.. but I’ll keep the colors and small VFX/mographs to make my videos feel closer to me! With a ton of red-green, much like my previous Hades covers, I think you can feel the game’s mood and style in every shot! I plan to do 1-2 covers a month as a good quota, so keeping things low-key will be nice (even though I know my equivalent of low-key might be insanely ambitious compared to my old stuff). You’ll hopefully see original songs pop up here, and definitely on Spotify/Bandcamp too! Let me know your cover requests, maybe tracks I’ve done in the past or from new games/movies that would be fun!

  4. I'm usually pretty up to date on game hypes but I actually didn't play Hades yet… Nevertheless, your Hades covers have been really awesome to hear. Been enjoying the inclusion of different instruments and brass sections in your music lately!
