i honestly like the grind of this game. it feels like it requires more of you but in turn rewards you with more. i genuinely hope they keep it this way and don't lessen the requirements for some stuff. this game is the sequel, it should be harder and more robust and that should also include more reasons to go and fight which people are calling 'grindy' when it's actually just great game design that forces you to step out of your comfort zone a little more. i mean, if you don't know what you're looking for or aren't paying attention, you can be without aspects until after you beat the underworld. bronze isn't even down there (to my knowledge)
of course we are still in EA so this stuff will be adjusted to appease the masses, not the few. but i really do hope this game philosophy resonates within the community and stays about the same. all in all, this game is what a sequel should be. i played way too much yesterday xD
p.s. the boon that lets you attack while your omega attack is going off is GODLY with furious whirlwind. oh my god you are an absolute tank lmao
I've been to Cerberus twice now, and I have YET to see Eris! Crazy there's an entire character someone terrible at the game like me may not meet.
Apollo special goes crazy on the axe, got me to Chronos for the first time!
ME UNGA. AXE BUNGA.
I've gotten to the end of Tartarus 3 times now, this game gets crazy hard. But holy crap, the power level of this game feels so huge, for enemies and for Mel
The way the music slows down when you use that hex is so rad.
I struggled at first, but after like 20 runs you figure it out. I've now made it to Cronos basically every run with any weapon. You just got to know that this is NOT Hades 1 where you basically smash and dash. You must use your Special + Cast or Attack + Cast depending on the weapon, at all times.
I got to chronos by try 10 but he absolutely clowned on me. This definitely feels different and there's some weapon imbalance for sure. Also the hammers range from almost insignificant to super good. The run I got to Chronos with I had the dual dags and a special synergy on the hammers (the return special and the charged special). But it's early days so who knows.
Why is his mana recovering so fast?
Idk if I'm doing somehing wrong, but the second route bosses are kicking my ass severly
Heyy Haelian, love your vids but I'm gonna unsubscribe for a bit to avoid Hades 2 spoilers, cya whenever i'm caught up with the game
I like the way it’s slightly more complicated but ultimately very similar to Hades 1
It IS NOT SELEN-E….. JUST SELENNNNNNN(SILENT E)
People are forgetting how hard Hades 1 was in early access. As someone who tested the previous since the beginning, it was definitely a backhand to the face and overtime they adjusted the difficulty curve. I will say the starting hp of Melinoe is too low though.
Axe drag really came from Transistor!!!
I got a god build with axe and made it to the 4th boss with the debuff after killing the 3rd boss for the first time. +range and damage, + speed when spinning, reduce charge time on spin, +focus when standing in AOE, use attack and special while spinning. Infinite focus spin to win. It felt significantly stronger than any other build I played.
I also have played Hades 1 so much that I can't tell which one is harder,
I remember reaching the final boss in 1 much later than in 2, but the final boss wasn't even in the game from early access in 1 and it is in the game in 2, so that might be it
eris slowly moves down the stages i think its to slow people down from speeding though the game early on
The Sprint vs. Dash is probably the biggest change here. Also, it's MUCH more difficult to make high damage builds than in Hades 1, but there is a lot more variety in builds. I will say all the Moon stuff kind of sucks and is pretty pointless outside of the healing.
The only part that feels a lot harder is Tartarus I feel like. If you dont have your build solidly online by then, that area is pure agony. But other than that I feel like the games are rather similar in difficulty.
0:55 the titan of chonkyness is in the game also
Melinoë’s axe dragging is a callback to the way Red drags her sword in Supergiant’s second game, Transistor.
If it feels harder, it’s because the meta progression system feels restrictive and difficult to work with early game. I wish they just brought back the mirror.
I'm on my 13th run, and have made it to Chronos 2x, haven't beat him yet. As of now I'd say it's harder, but that might change when I can craft builds better.
Came for the Hades content, stay for the kitty 😅
