I'm just glad that we have a weapon that can use attack and special at the same time with all aspects. All other weapons except Momus focus on either attack and special with using the other very sparingly
Mel aspect next? Curious how you would build it
Boated getting warm and cozy in his new coat.
Wolf howl but with the audio changed to say “ WWE SUPER SLAM” every time you use it
You know the devs are kinda a-holes. Making the zeus-hera combo busted because of their relationship, practically forcing pro players to have them together. It's kinda funny ngl 😂
A lot of Prometheus's animations get eaten by the effects on the screen, he's so small too. Zag had Meg and Theseus and Asterius who were also small, but neither are as hectic as Eris and Prometheus.
Most excited for you to do Mel aspect seems like a weapon you’d be really good at in high fear
i kinda agree with you how this aspect is leaning towards building with specials in mind. I think the best run I've had so far had was by juicing the crap out of slow cooker infusion with hestia and Apollo boons, which gave the rockets a base power of like 70. Interested to see how you build mel aspect, personally I didn't find the attack speed boost too noticeable.
for the simon says attack there's usually 1 or two instances where the same spot is safe twice in a row. if you can just remember to stay in place at certain points it makes it easier to focus on the others where you actually have to switch. also it seems based on what you were saying that you're thinking about it in terms of where you can't stand, i think it's much easier to think about it in terms of where you can stand.
I think Prometheus is actually a very well-balanced boss for area three except that his flames of prophecy attack is instant death on every hit. As someone in the feedback chat pointed out, the fact that he gets three to five of those when Chronos himself only gets one seems a bit overtuned both in terms of balance and lore. Otherwise, great design, great boss fight, great character choice and very enjoyable dialogue so far. Chef's kiss on him as a new boss.
For trivia:
Heph isn't mentioned as designing automatons specifically for Olympus' defense in Greek mythology, but it stands to reason he did so considering the number of times he designed automatons at Zeus' behest to protect his various lovers and as gifts to mortals that Heph particularly favoured, as well as all of the robotic stools and maids that the Greeks did mention existing in his workshop that I talked about during one of your previous Heph runs.
The closest thing to these mechanical guard automatons that he made in the myths were a set of mechanical guard dogs he created for King Alcinous. These two dogs, one gold and one silver, would protect his palace from any intruders according to The Odssey. Later authors described many mechanical dogs built by our favourite forge god, as well as mechanical golden lions set to guard the palace. In addition to these animals, in some myths Heph is also said to have made a golden guard dog to protect infant Zeus from Chronos during the Titanomachy, sometimes doing so by transforming his mother Rhea into said guard dog. How exactly Heph did this while also being Zeus' son who wasn't born yet isn't really made clear by the authors, and I think this is just one case of a writer having a really cool idea that they didn't fully think through logistically. I think it can be reconciled by saying that he sent the dog to guard the golden fleece at the site where his father was raised by the golden ram during the build up to the Titanomachy, though.
These guard animals are the closest things we see to palace guards built by Heph to protect his friends, allies and family from danger, but I don't think it's a stretch to say he'd build defenses for Olympus as well. I would have liked some of these defenses to look like lions and dogs as a reference to the myths, but maybe we'll get robo-lions and/or robo-dogs in another patch adding more enemies the devs have said is coming down the line in the future. There are other automatons Heph made they can pull from Greek myth too. The famous fire-breathing bronze bulls from Jason and the Argonauts were crafted by Heph as thanks to Helios for rescuing him from the Snake Giants that attacked Olympus during the Gigantomachy. These were gifted to his son Aeetes, father of Media, who set them to work guarding his palace in Colchia. To obtain the Golden Fleece, Jason was forced to yoke a pair of the fire-breathing metal bulls and sew a field full of dragon teeth, who then would turn into an unstoppable army.
Medea enchanted him to be immune to the fire and impervious to injury from their metal hooves, and then taught him how to kill the army of dragon-tooth warriors. The mechanical bulls never made it into the Ray Harryhausen classic Jason And The Argonauts, but I recommend watching the fight with the skeletal dragon-tooth warriors on Youtube, as it's an incredible feat of stop-motion animation. Also appearing in that Jason and the Argonauts adaptation as a stop-motion movie monster is the gigantic Talos, Heph's finest creation, who did make it into Hades II in the form of the miniboss you just encountered. Talos' design in this game is…a choice. Instead of merely being a cool robot with shield disc arms, in mythology, he was absolutely gigantic and considered impervious to almost all damage. He looked more like an animated version of the Colossus of Rhodes, which is accurately portrayed in the Ray Harryhausen movie (one of my favourite designs for Talos, though I also like the Age of Mythology version they call 'Colossi').
Heph built Talos at Zeus' request to protect his lover Europa from Hera's wrath, acting as one of several apology gifts for spiriting her away from her life in Greece while Hera tried to kill her. Talos continued to guard the island even after Europa's departure, until the Argonauts had to pass its shores and Talos stepped forward to try to block the Argo's way. The Argonauts quickly found that Talos was impervious to harm, save for a specific weak point in his heel (same as Achilles) that contained his lifeblood. One of the Argonauts landed a trick shot against his heel, causing his ichor to bleed out and destroying the giant. Fortunately, the automatons are easier to take down in Hades II, although not by much considering their damage output…
Your voice reminds me of Grey CGP. Anyway, I enjoy your gameplay and chilled commentary. Subscribed!
this definitely isnt a blitz attack aspect imo, %dmg goes a suuuuper long way with the attacks when they have nightshade on
Been playing with the Selene aspect. It's so much fun.
New familiars are great to use ngl, have those bad boys maxed out, raven is so good with the crit buffs and the dog is aight I guess the stuns do help
wouldnt it be easier to say where it's safe instead of where the fire spawns
Prometheus's lane attack gets easier if you think to yourself where YOU need to be instead of where its hitting. thats what made it click for me. if its doing both the side lanes i think middle, if its doing both the top and middle lanes i think bottom, and if its just the top lane i think middle.
For the prom call-outs: memorize where you need to go, not where the attack is going. Who cares what the exact pattern is when you just need to be safe
Am I the only one who thinks charybdis is even more difficult now? God damn
Bro how do you get the weapon. The ore just isn't spawning for me.
The way I dodge Prom attacks is I call out numbers, top is 1, middle 2, and bottom is 3. So if the safe area is top top bottom I just memorise 113. Try it out guys.
How do you get the white timer? I have been looking around on the internet and I can’t find anything. Please tell me if it’s a mod or a setting? Please I’m desperate!
20:31 Gave selene a spin at 32 and while it's quite good I'd say zone 3+ silver wheel feels even more important than pin simply coz Xinth omegas are so slow and the block feels worse than axe or hades 1 shield, imo it's way more predictive than reactive and at full +40% speed that gets hard.
