Afternoon
My tip is to combine posidens dash damage with hermes extra dashes, its op, you dont even need to attack just constant dash, if you can up the damage as much as you can plus get posidens other dash bonuses it really is op, if you lucky you can dash like 5 times in a row 😱
Oh what's this? A Hades video for my Hades break? Don't mind if I do…
id add nemesis with boons that exact revenge on the enemies that damage you.
I would add any other ancient god from a different theology. They somehow ended up in the underworld & have no idea where they are, what's going on, or how to get out again, & will offer you assistance in exchange for your assistance with solving these problems.
Maybe a ps exclusive – kratos – granting you invincible rage(1 sec) each time a foe is slain without damage taken.
Two easily missed things:
– Each mirror skill can be flipped! Press the little button on the left of each name, and make sure to save up darkness for those as well. Didn't notice myself until today after playing for two months, and only due to the Fate list mentioning twice as many as I thought there were…
– Damage numbers can be toggled in the settings, which reduces clutter and sensory input for those who already struggle a bit with the cascade of information on the screen 🙂 Makes the game far more enjoyable imo~
I just have a question: can i turn on Hell Mode during the mid of a run …!? If yes, will i lose any progress because of that ?
Loved your ment at the end, Aoife. The tips and tricks you mentioned are really useful (I didn't even realise the bit about different coloured laurels until now!) but you gave a good reminder that the most important thing is to enjoy the game, no matter how you choose to play.
After watching this video, I'm itching for one more Hades run… see y'all once Hades is back in the Styx
I'm loving Hades, had a few successful runs now (thanks for the earlier guides and streams!). Now need to work on increasing relationships with the Olympians. Apollo could work with boons that added fire damage to your attacks and call be something that sets enemies near you on fire
I mean, you'd have to add Hecate. Goddess of the Crossroads, Witchcraft and stuff? A must. I don't actually know what boons she'd give you, but it wouldn't be damage based, just do weird stuff. Debuff or freeze your opponents for sure, but maybe temporarily transform them into a weaker version or a different opponent altogether? Maybe I'm not imaginative enough. But that's why I'd love to see her do stuff. Surprise me.
I think Supergiant created their own Greek God – Thirsteus. Because this game is a trap
I personally had to turn on God Mode since I wasn’t having fun constantly dying before even getting to Surface. I kept God Mode on for awhile and got the ending. And then I after finishing the Fates List I finally decided to turn it off and run with the Pact always active. I don’t always make it to the top but at least I’m having fun again and that’s what truly counts.
Thor, his hammer, except you're not worthy so you can't pick it up
Great tips, I intend to take them to heart. Just started playing recently and I'm a little stuck battling Megaera. She is tough! And as far as adding a god to the game, I'd say Hercules. I know he's really a demi-god, and I don't know if he's in the game already, I think strength buffs from him would help a lot! Love your videos so much by the way. They've been helping me through rough times. Being able to put them on when I'm feeling down and just laugh is a great gift. Thank you so much 💖
Thumbnail made me think this was a PragerU video.
I'm like: WHAT THE FUCK THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT HADES???
Great video Aoife, I really like the look of the game and would consider buying it but I don’t think I could handle the bullet hell (no pun intended) nature and I wouldn’t want to rely on God mode to complete it… 🤔
I love this game! Normally games like this make me frustrated and quit, but what really helped was looking up beginners guides and after that the game became so much fun. I did beat the final boss before I unlocked every thing so I am worried I focused a little to much on that goal and forgot everything else
Still yet to start this, having come from finishing Returnal and getting all endings recently, I've been putting off playing another Roguelike so soon. These tips will help when I finally give it a go!
Hades it's amazing. Never thought I would even be into roguelite games. But hades story, great voice acting, and amazing art style just keeps me playing. Up to 6 heat on all weapons and still not bored
I would add Psyche. True, she's from the Roman counterpart mythology but I'd love to see how the devs would fit her in the universe as she is the soul goddess.
If not her, then Hera / Hephaistos / Apollo would be a great addition too.
I have beat every souls and returnal and this game kicks my ass. I had no choice but to turn on God mode.
I would add Goku. He’s the Super Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan God God.
I would love to see maybe a DLC where non-Greek gods reveal themself to Zagreus and gift him boons out of curiosity. Kinda how chaos was first revealed but more like the standard boon encounters. Like how cool would it be to have Anubis appear and gift you a mummification boon that can stun enemies or something like that. I think it could be really fun
Loved this. Also, I am always feeling a bit squishy…
"Embrace Chaos." Ah, yes, this is a true Eurogamer video.
Regarding the Lambent Plume and Pierced Butterfly keepsakes, I would add that you lose the dodge chance/attack bonus if you change to a different keepsake during the run… found that out the hard way :/
Both keepsakes work best imho if you commit to using them for an entire run. Finishing a chamber quickly/not getting hit is much easier in Tartarus, where the enemies are still relatively easy. It also means you have a higher chance to achieve a decent dodge chance/attack bonus overall.
STORY SPOILER warning:
.
.
.
My favorite keepsake, especially for the Temple of Styx (last region before the Hades bossfight), is Persephone's Pom Blossom.
After you defeat Hades ten times, the credits roll and Persephone returns home to the underworld. There you can give her Nectar and in return receive her keepsake.
It works basically like a Pom of Power, leveling up a random boon every 4 chambers. And in the Temple of Styx, every small room you fight through to get to a boon counts as a chamber. So, depending on how fast you find the Satyr Sack/whether you enter the other doors after having found the Satyr Sack, you can rack up several levels. For me this is usually a better preparation for the final boss than the boons you pick up there.
I'd love to see Hera turn up, even if it was to actively sabotage my runs if I've been blessed by Zeus.
I'm afraid I don't know enough about her dominion to speak more fully on what she could do.
I'd love to see more of Nyx's other Children (Nemesis, Despair etc) and it would be incredible to actually meet Daedalus or at least have him talk to us when we find his hammers.
Just got the platinum trophy last night…Still feels like a mountain to beat 32 heat though 😩😂
Hell with Aoife is really not hell at all
waiting for Hades2,,,with more gods and story,,love this game,,!!!
Absolutely loving Hades personally and am 100% pro-Dusa. That is a little gorgon with a can-do attitude and a bounce in her hover.
"Stick to a few gods" I would say it depends on which mirror upgrade you like.
I for example, prefer the one that gives you bonus dmg for every god help you have
I love this game and I made it very far into the story. I'm still having fun at every run, slowly building up heat, getting resorces and discovering all relationships to their end.
As an addition to the gods, maybe Chronos, who slows enemies attaks or freezes time for a short while. Just something of the top of my head.
How about the Christian capital G God, with the special power of sanctimony?
That god question at the end: I think it'd be cool for a mechanic, post game mode, or a biome where instead of the Greek Pantheon the Roman alternatives start appearing. So you clear a room and get a Zeus boon, hit the symbol and… wait, Jupiter? Poseidon -> Neptune. Aphrodite -> Venus. These boons should also be twisted slightly, similar to how Chaos gives you a debuff to get a buff in the end. Maybe the Roman pantheon boons should be top tier straight off the bat , but fade in strength the longer they are active until they start going negative because their power isn't quite the same to a Greek demigod. That way you're incentivised to keep your build juggled and replacing boons that are about to go sour.
