  1. I've really only listened to the Bloodbath stuff with Mikael in it, but it's fun when you're in the mood for just…nasty brutality. They really tried to go over the top with this band and the lyrics are absolutely ridiculous but I prefer a death metal band that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Oh, and that's Martin Axenrot on drums. Opeth's drummer for several years.

  2. You guys need to check out anything by dan swano..he is like swedens death metal version of devin townsend. He is a death metal god in sweden and influenced a lot of musicians. His Edge of Sanity albums are sick

  3. Mike did a great job with Bloodbath, his favorite Death Metal band is Morbid Angel.
Peter Tägtgren of Hypocrisy growled for Bloodbath after Mike left. , I think Bloodbath's best album is Nightmares' Made Flesh with Peter Tägtgren.

  4. Your comments and gestures are felt sincere. I think it will be interesting if you check out the popular songs as well as the lesser-known (underrated) quality bands. My first suggest for that Turkish biggest metal band Pentagram a.k.a Mezarkabul – Vita Es Morte (long studio version). Long studio version is old and recording quality is not great but as track more rich then live version with different vocal. 🎶🤘🏻

  6. A little info on the sound and inspiration of Bloodbath. In the video, look att the t-shirt Mikael is wearing. During the late 80:s Mikael was involved in the Stockholm Death Metal scen and heavily inspired by bands like Nihilist (later Entombed). He's even stated in interviews that Bloodbath started as a hobby project to honor the early Stockholm Death Metal Scen.

(With all respect to all Morbid Angel fans) Listening to Morbid Angels music at that time you can clearly hear that the guitar sound is quite different from the Stockholm chain saw/buzz saw guitar sound. For instance, listen to Morbid Angels "Altars of of Madness" guitar sound and compare it to Entombeds "Left hand path" and you clearly her from where Bloodbath has gotten their inspiration. Btw Mikael wasn't the only one to write songs for the band.

    Just a little info 😀👍🤘

PS. Very much like your reactions of the great Swedish metal bands like Meshuggah, Opeth… You should do Entombeds "Left hand path", a milestone in death metal.
