Disappointing boss.. It’s a lot of extra work for such a short fight. It’s one of the fastest fights if your aggressive here. The floor is slippery and he moves around but he’s wide open to attacks pretty much the whole time.
Unlocking him is pretty complicated.. But you do get the Cast Armor which makes you invincible and gives you zero spell cooldown if you beat him. The reward is definitely worth it if you want to play around on subsequent playthroughs.
You need to collect 17 shadow orbs which requires finding all the Black Chests and Hell Holes. You basically need to go through every area (including Shadow stages) with Treasure Sense or follow a guide to do this. If you finish the 2nd playthrough without collecting all the shadow orbs you’ll have to replay the entire game again with increased difficulty.. So you should definitely follow a guide if you want to unlock this guy.
I might have been better off using the Bow or Hammer but this only took a few tries.. He might have more tricky attacks if the fight takes a while, but Doppelganger or Golden Armor will kill him before he can do much.
