► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. For death defiance vs. stubborn defiance – you get 1 death defiance per rank, meaning you can have three tops, which means you can die three times per run (and you can add more death defiances from other sources onto that). Stubborn defiance you only get one, but you can use it every room.

As for the bloodstone cast, I really like the regenerating one better. Like with the death defiance – the infernal soul gives you one per rank, so you can have three tops. With the stygian soul you get one, but it regenerates and it regenerates really quick later so I've had like five bloodstones inside a boss at a time. Plus you don't have to worry about fetching them. The infernal soul works better with a bow thing you can do later, but that's about it.

  2. Pretty sure Skelly hints at this eventually (since he gives hints on how to play the game, like backstabs, wall smashes, etc.) but it is a good idea to unlock every weapon, since afterwords you get to use the Titan Blood you've gathered.

  3. Oh wow, they nerfed Athena being mad in double boon rooms. She was a nightmare in the past and I've avoided angering her since, didn't know it was patched.
Anyway, you are making the right call on these rooms – they are almost always the best place to go.

  4. You should really try switching to the other cast (regenerating one) it's quite fun (no the feats don't stack, when you flip you loose the other one)
Also give some nectar to sleepy boy, he has a great keepsake

  5. Might sound counter intuitive (it certainly did to me) to take a boon that triggers on taking damage, but if you consider it like this: You will inevitably get hit a lot on every run. And some of the revenge boons are really very good.

  6. Dash attack on bow shortens the time it takes to charge up, but does a little less damage. Used tactically to reposition for backstabs, it can do a lot more dps overall.

Also, don't forget to give any nectar you have to the gods before getting their boons. You can check who you have and haven't given a nectar to in the codex – there'll be a heart with a parcel in it that is empty if you haven't, filled red if you have. Once you have the god trinkets you can start aiming for specific weapon/boon combos that compliment each other in between each stage. Giving a god a nectar also has the effect of opening up their entry in the book of prophecies.

  7. Oh my god, Welonz – did you spot your own pro move at 32:58? You deflected the bomb straight into the bombslinger to finish it off just before the Athena blessing gave him invuln. Nice work!

By the way, quick note for next time – Stygian Soul, the mirror talent for the recharging cast, works even if you don't make any investment in it, so consider swapping to it next time. The alternate to "restore health per room" can also make a great pick.

  8. Heroes Behaviors:
Theseus: will do a Spear Throw at you if you're afar from him in that case dash around clockwise or counterclockwise(just stick to one of those until he finishes that throw)
also you can use the pillars for cover just pay attention to the mark when it flashes that's when you dash on the spot(you have small window to dash).
When you're near him he will do the spear spin attack and you can tell when it shows you the radius of attack before it happens so just dash outside that radius.
When he reaches 50% of health he will call a random god assistance to attack you with him pay attention to radius and dash outside them accordingly.

Minotaur: it will charge at you when that happens you dash around to avoid damage(it will take a while when it finishes)or for faster approach you can bait it into charging into the pillars or walls, I do recommend to always attack it from behind no matter what since it has radius damage when it attacks with the axe, when it does leap combo you just dash afar from your previous position and you get some free hits on it from behind when it finishes that leap.
When it reaches 50% of health it will attack with bigger radius and now the leap combo will cause three split attacks in right straight and left at the same time when it does that dodge behind it to avoid all of that also hit it while you're at it.
PS:I do recommend to focus on one of them until it died then go for the other else it will be too chaotic and they might do one of those 50% health attacks together.
finally i recommend to use boons that buff the dash ; like Hermes Greatest Reflex boon or Zeus thunder dash etc since this fight relies so much on dashing, doing that until you feel more comfortable fighting them and no worries you will reach the point you don't need specific boons to have an easier fight against them.

  9. Here is how you can get more special resources (titan blood, diamond, ambrosia)
    – Broker in the lounge sometimes have a limited offer, selling a special resource for common resources (darkness, keys or gems), but it's quite pricy and I don't think that you are going to get extra 1000 darkness, 500 gems or 30 keys any time soon.
    – The last shop (the one after Elysium) sells either one titan blood for 1200 or one diamond for 1000 obols. Keep that in mind when you'll be able to pass Elysium more or less reliably.
    – There is a fishing mechanic in the game (you'll be able to unlock a fishing rod later). Some fishes sell for diamonds.
    – You'll unlock another mechanic later on that will allow you to 'refresh' bounties for the bosses up to 20 times. So in total you'll be able to get up to 126 bloods from Meg alone.

  10. I see a lot of streamers seeing the special and then spamming the special and nothing else. FYI it is by far your weakest attack. When you’re against one person and only hitting with 1-2 special arrows you’re doing like 20-30 dmg each time instead of 100+ by using your main attack.

  11. I'm hardly an expert in this game, but I've found that it's best to concentrate on 2 gods' boons. The Duo skills are usually really good, and you might also get offered boons that synergize with what you have already (for example, decreasing the Hangover tick times or increasing damage against foes that have Hangover on them).
