  1. I'm sympathetic to people who think the game is too grindy, but I honestly really enjoy grinding in hades to the point where I make new games all the time to just get that unlock dopamine lol.
Also, my theory is that it's an early access problem that the resources feel mostly redundant, because think of how many things hades 1 added that are mostly filler but still require HUGE amounts of resources for late-game people who have nothing else to do with them, chances are there's a lot of things hades 2 hasn't added yet that you can spend resources on. Moss, for instance, is barely used rn but thinking about how short the surface is, it will most likely be needed for more incantations.

  2. I think a lot of ppl come into h2 expecting it to play exactly like h1 and dont want to learn the game and its new mechanics. Then they complain that their knowledge of the previous game doesnt carry over when they forgot they also had to learn that game's mechanics

  3. A couple years ago, when I first started playing Hades in Year 11 (15-16 years old) me and one of my friends who played it first, but stopped playing for a while + so I quickly surpassed, were talking about Hades DLCs.

I, being a meganerd, came up with a God of War inspired DLC, well multiple different options for how it could be played out ig.

Hades: Ghost of Sparta/Bear and the Wolf (a nod to GOW 2018's Platinum)

The general idea was that a) his boons would be divided between fire and ice (Chaos Blades and Leviathan Axe, although the Aid would always be Spartan Rage obviously) and that you would be able to use the CBs and LA during your runs as they landed in the Training Room – Multiversal Collapse leads to curses being lifted etc (so CBs don't immediately teleport to be near Kratos), all of the gods would have responses to the weapons. Especially Ares of course. And Atreus would be able to "power-up" your Cthonic Companions (due to him being able to speak with animals he would awaken their souls) turning them into little secondary permenant allies (1 at a time obviously) with skill trees and levels although the way to level them up would be completed runs with heat (each heat being 1 exp essentially). So for example, with Battie they would shoot out Megeara's little purple orbs and at level 5 you could choose between Scorpie or Pangy (A Scorpion and a Pangolin, to represent Tisiphonies stabbing attack and Alecto's buzz-saw thing) as additional buddies to join as a little mini swarm, and then level 10 you would get the other one, which would essentially just be a stronger variant of what it would have been. But yh, you basically had to beat runs with specific requirements (and using that CC) to "awaken them" and then you could level them up.

Or course, Demeter already has ice boons, so how would Kratos' boons and hers interact? To put it simply: never figured that out, hence why I never pitched it to Supergiant Games 😂😂, I just wanted to see Dad Kratos and Atreus illustrated in the Hades artstyle and this was the most fun way I could think of getting it done.

Thank you very much for reading this far if you did, sorry if my grammar was bad. Have a good day 😊.

  4. To be fair, it'd be kinda weird if you only needed Darkness and Gemstones for every incantation. But it's definitely frustrating trying to get specific resources at times, especially since stuff like Molies and darkness don't seem to rely on the tools to spawn.

  5. The only thing I mind grinding in H2 is the keepsakes. Some of them are rarely useful, if ever (hello Discordant Bell), so you can't really level them up in the natural course of playing the game

  6. The worst part of Hades 1's grind imo is doing every heat level to get all the titan's blood you need. For me, runs were only even mildly challenging at 16+ heat, so the vast majority of it is repetitive with no tension. Glad Hades 2 isn't like this

  7. This actually got me thinking about new TYPES of grinds they could add to keep things fun. I had the idea that we could have tasks to kill enemies under certain conditions to get rewards. Maybe they could be how we unlock the hidden aspects!

For example, kill enough enemies by OVERkilling them by X damage to unlock the hidden axe.

Or complete chambers without taking damage for a bonus resource

I know some would groan and say its an extra chore, but for me it'd be a new way of interacting with the game that I'd enjoy!

  8. Day 7 Asking for a max dodge build

-Wispy Whiles is MVP with you being able to pretty consistently get it to 30% plus doge chance without elements from chaos or narcissus
-Try to get a common dodge boon from hermes to phial it or just settle for an epic for 20-25%
    – Obviously messenger arcana for 5%
    – And then finally find a way to apply daze constantly (I find Blinding sprint to be best) for an extra 20% against dazed enemies

Im pretty confident that 100% is possible with enough luck but I would love to see your attempt at it

Zeus has all wind boons while aphro has wind/water and apollo has wind/fire

  9. Having grinded out everything currently in the game, one of the only things I was annoyed about at any point was driftwood, and that got patched to be more common after I finished everything that needed driftwood. The only other thing was the nightmare grind, and that was also patched to be easier a bit after I finished my grind for the aspects, but I still think they should be achievable just through beating the bosses rather than having to get them through Charon/the broker, but I know that might change through the updates

  10. This is probably my most elitist take but you don't really need all the upgrades to enjoy a game. Like do you really need the messenger to beat chronos? Do you really need fully maxed out arcana to have fun? I don't think so

  11. Honestly my one complaint that applies to both games, I don't much care for how keepsakes are upgraded. I kinda wished actually USING them was how you upgraded them, not just carrying them. (And to be clear, some should still be upgraded by carrying simply because they don't have another affect either(

  12. Hades 1 had a lot of grind and u had to prioritise between mirror and weapon aspects. I honestly gave up grinding after like 50hrs and installed free resources mods just that i could unlock all aspects(1-2 titan blood in each) and mirror talents.

  13. Maybe it'll come in a later update, but I just have sooooo much psyche, ash, and collectible resources that I can't do anything with now that I'm 99% done with the content/unlockables/upgrades/prophecies. Wonder how resources will factor into overworld cosmetics, and ranks.

  14. Not only did they exceed expectations with Hades 2 in making a far better sequel, the game ~isn't even complete yet~. I feel like I need to scream the last part. It's freaking amazing, and I can't wait to see what the rest is.

  15. To me the big difference in H2 is that so many items can only be obtained on a run – in H1 you could mostly trade a resource with the broker into another resource even if it wasn't a good deal. In H2 it's a minimum of 2 runs for some unlocks, and likely more if you need a resource that's not linked to a gathering tool (****ing driftwood for example)
