  1. I think hestia just needs an almost complete rework to her boons because most of them are just not good. The sprint is situational, scorch as a curse isn't great, no fire immunity, her damage potential isn't very high on her own and there's not a lot of synergy between her own boons hot pot is also just a great value brand daze

  2. Doesnt Apollo give you more sprint speed?

Also. Easy buff to Hestia Leggo. Enemies killed in the fire pool are cooked and drop healing items.

The goddess of the hearth giving some cooking seems fun

  3. Hestia's lego is really bad, the puddles are small, they don't last very long and overall don't hit the enemies very often. It really should be something else, really does not justifies building towards it

  4. Hestia’s legendary feels like a duo boon akin to beach ball. It feels so disconnected from all of her boons. It should either involve scorch or the fireball thingies from glowing coal and controlled burn. As it is, it barely adds anything to a normal run and feels weak in a run revolving around it

  5. Phoenix Skin is actually ridiculously good because it works outside of battle. If you sit on a boon selection screen or in a shop, it still works and the timer won't increment, so you can easily start every room at full health. It can single handedly give you a 32 fear win on the surface.

  6. It would be a lot better if it just made the trail at all times rather than only on sprint, as is it's pretty crap. Also maybe make it scorch instead of just flat damage, so it can benefit from hestia's tier 2s

  7. have the fire spread/propagate more over time? and maybe scale the lifespan of the fire on the ground on sprint speed, that way the fire has a way bigger chance to hit enemies, and even more bigger of a chance when more sprint speed is acquired

  8. I really like Hades 2 but I think there's a big issue with the game as currently constructed that pales to the original. It's hard to describe but in the original, if you got different hammers and/or boons (mostly duo and legendary) they could really change the way you played the run. The rail gun is the best example, different aspects and hammers created quite different and ultimately fun playstyles. With Hades 2, most of the duos and legendaries just kind make existing things better. Often you forget you even have a duo active because you play the exact same way. This is fine for some legendaries and boons but others should transform the run. This is why I like the direction of the Hestia legendary, forces you to go into a sprint run. In all I think many of the hammers, duos, legendaries need work. It's honestly very boring to get a hammer who's main attribute is +X power. Changes nothing just makes you do more damage.

  9. I feel like Fire Walk should just be her regular sprint, and the trail causes scorch damage instead, and then her current sprint can be a secondary buff that eliminates projectiles to buff scorch damage.

  10. Maybe Fire Walk should create a fire effect on the ground around Mel instead of leaving puddles of fire behind when she sprints. It would apply damage more consistently and, assuming it overrides other fire effects on the ground, it would render you immune to them and remove the ambiguity on what fire it protects from.

I think a description like "The ground around you is always on fire and only deals damage to enemies" would make it easier to understand what it protects from.

However, assuming the sprint entry for the damage meter is the legendary, it seems to have done okay damage, so making it apply damage consistently might be too good, so the damage might need to be nerfed slightly. If it's more consistent than it looks in it's current version, it might be enough to make it clearer when it does damage, maybe it could turn enemies to have a red tint when they are standing in them.

  11. I think Phoenix Skin should rapidly convert max HP into HP after damage, at a rate of 1 max HP to 10 HP. This makes it like born gain but for HP, instead of losing 100 HP for really bad healing you constantly bleed max HP to keep yourself in good condition

Alternatively a more simple idea is to drain magick to restore HP, but this is basically just brave face with a delay on the damage reduction

  12. I think a cool thing would be to have the firewalk consume scorch from nearby foes and increase damage based on that. It would make it a bit more interactive, but also feel like a powerful legendary ability.

  13. It is such a shame that poseidon sprint doesn't apply slip, since this legendary would actually convert that to steam (as per olympus update all hestia fire sources like controlled burn or glowing coal convert slip to steam)

  14. This is probably the most underwhelming legendary. The damage isn't good, fire doesn't show up often enough to make the reduced damage useful, and it's very unclear visually sometimes what counts as fire and what doesn't. They can't all be Apollo, but this needs a total rework.

  15. I think they should have a sprint that does explosions or fire around you for apollo/hestia duo and rework hestia's legendary, maybe an improved dash strike or something. The problem with the sprint in it's current form is that it's all behind you and you're barely ever sprinting away, only really dashing out of danger.

  16. Someone mentioned just having you take less damage in general while stepping in flames, and that sounds a lot more interesting. That way you could walk around a bit to leave the trail and then try to fight on top of it.

EDIT: or maybe even give you a globel damage% increase, that way you could get bonus damage for your regular Hestia stuff.

  17. so I picked up sun worshipper recently and since you can afflict your summon with hitch, chronos will deal a huge chunk to himself with the instakill moves which is pretty situational but also pretty cool at the same time

  18. I honestly have used both Freezeburn and Scalding Vapor simultaneously with this aspect and it is disgusting. I honestly have never taken her Legendary and I run her a lot.

IMO, Phoenix Skin is the most busted of Hestia's duo boons. It can save you high fear runs in a pinch if you hold on the boon selection.

  19. Fire Walk is flashy, but I don't think it aligns well with Hestia's overall strategy. Instead, I suggest bringing back her removed boon, Fire Extinguisher. (Foes with at least 300 Scorch take a burst of damage that consumes the effect.) However, to improve its synergy, it shouldn't remove Scorch entirely, should activate faster (perhaps every 0.5 seconds for consistent damage), and should apply heavy hitstun when triggered.

  20. Do people really hate Phoenix Skin so much? I have used it once and really loved it tbh. I feel like especially in runs like the one in the video having 300 health and guarantee starting every encounter with full health+some healing possible even during the encounter is so much better than just having 400 health

  21. I don't think Fire Walk is bad, it just has a lackluster hitbox that leads to it feeling very underwhelming while also holding it back a bit. On the end screen, Hael's Sprint damage (Blinding Sprint doesn't deal damage so this is all Fire Walk's) was over half of his Scorch damage which is really good in hindsight. But most of the time he has to sprint past or around the enemies to burn them which sucks. If the fire appeared more often and was slightly larger to cover the holes, while also spawning slightly ahead of Mel and when she dashes to make hitting enemies easier, then Fire Walk could be a really strong boon that'd also feel good to use.

  22. Yeah, it definitely seems that Fire Walk was designed specifically to make the Prometheus fight easier, but that just kind of runs counter to the idea of a rogue-like where the point is to keep going until you finally get it. Honestly, I think that taking Hestia and Aphro's duo and making it her Legendary would be much, much better. Call it something like Accelerant and have it so Scorch doesn't tick down as long as there's another Curse on the foe.
Then you could make Hestia and Aphro's different, something like this. Warm Feelings – being near Weak Foes heals Mel and boosts her Damage
As for Hestia and Apollo's, I think the main problem is the "deal" part. If they just made it so it was just if Mel didn't take damage, it would be much better. Though, I could see it being replaced with something like this. Corona – Mel's Casts have a fiery ring around them that inflicts Scorch and they release a damaging blast when they expire. Would be INSANE with Prominence Flare
